FAQ
Look here first for answers to the most common questions. If you still can't find an answer, email me and I'll do my best to answer your question :)

Q: Do I need anything to run your programs?
A: Yes. on most of the product pages it tells the prerequisites required.  In most cases, you'll need the .NET Compact Framework installed. My applications work both with CF 1.0 and CF 2. The download links are on the main page.
Q: When i install your programs i get a message on my PPC that it might not work properly because it was designed for a prior version of Windows.

A: This is actually a common message on Compact Framework applications. You can just click "OK", and the application will work fine.
Q: When i try to include FileOpenEx into a project i get a message That states "The Reference 'FileOpenEx.dll' may or may not be validfor the active platform".

A: This message only occurs the first time you add it to a project. You can remove the reference and then add it again later without the message. I'm not entirely certain of the cause, except that building custom controls for the compact framework with forms might have something to do with it. It will operate properly. I've even used it myself in ViewAny.
Q: Are Your Programs really free?

A: Yes, I give them out for free. However, if you do use something I've written and like it a lot, I ask that you make a donation to help me continue the project. FileOpenEx and netcfComDlg are free for use in freeware, but if you use them for a commercial application or a shareware application (ie: something that will make you money), I do require a mandatory donation. Otherwise, donate as you can. I also do support all my applications via email.  Also, if you have an idea or suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Q: PocketPDF Doesn't work!
A:
Yes, it does. If you are trying to open the resulting pdf with adobe reader 2.0 for PPC, it won't open it. However, adobe reader 1.0 for PPC and adobe reader on desktop computers opens them just fine.
Q: What cab file should I use for x device?
A: This is a common question. Most PocketPC 2003 Devices will work just fine with the ARM cab files. However, to ensure you have the specific one, first determine which Processor you have. You can find out by going to Start > Settings, then clicking the System tab. Click on About. It will show you your processor. You can try to find it in either this list, or this one. If you still can't find it, email me and i'll try to figure it out for you.  If you have a device with the new OMAP850 processor, use the ARM cab, since this processor is ARM based. (for example, the Qtek S200  has this processor).

Q: Your App page doesn't have my processor listed! what gives??

A: Due to space concerns (I have 30 Meg Storage here), I've eliminated cab files for the following processors: MIPS, SH3, x86, and WCE420x86. With the exception of PocketPDF, the only cab files i'll be posting from now on are ARM and ARMv4. HOWEVER, if you have one of the other processors and want one of my apps, send an email to support@pocketpcapps.net - i'll be happy to email it to you!

Q: After running OdysseyKill, i still have Odyssey files in my \Windows directory!
A:
Unfortunately, i can't remove these. They are displayed in the windows directory, but they actually exist in the read-only memory of the device (the part that reloads everything after a hard reset). But you've still gotten back over 2 meg, right?
Also, at this point, the Odyssey Client still shows up on the connections tab. I'm trying to determine how to get that out of there.

But in both cases, don't worry. It's really gone.
Q: Do your apps work on WM5?

A: As far as I'm aware, my apps have no issues with WM5. Ctitanic of Tweaks2k2 independently tested PocketPDF and found it works with no issues on WM5. Since most of the apps use the .NET Compact Framwework, I don't forsee any issues. If you do come across one, definitely let me know!
